The Atlantic coast of Morocco is not as famous as the Mediterranean coast of the kingdom. Yet this coast of western Morocco has breathtaking landscapes and small seaside resorts where it is pleasant to take a walk. To enjoy this region, we recommend that you rent a car in Agadir. In this big Moroccan city, you can visit the famous Kasbah of Agadir, the Valley of the Birds or the White Beach.
The port of Essaouira and the mysterious cistern of El Jadida
From Agadir, take the N1 noth along the ocean to admire the view and stop in Essaouira. This small town is known for the beauty of its fishing port, colored by the many colorful boats. From Essaouira, take the road north, but on the R301 this time. Along the coast, this road offers the most beautiful landscapes. Plan a stop in El Jadida and discover its most mysterious historical monument: the Portuguese cistern.
From El Jadida, all you have to do is an hour and twenty minutes drive on the A5 to reach Casablanca. There you will be spoiled for choice in terms of activities and outing ideas. Visit for example the Hassan II Mosque, the Habous district or the Villa des Arts.
